Local electricians donate services to war hero's family
March 7, 2008
Local volunteers, including IBEW Local 48 electricians, are donating materials and time to build a mortgage-free home to help a struggling family.
In 2006, 23-year-old Cpl. Jeremiah Johnson was killed in Baghdad the day after Christmas. He is survived by his wife Gale, and two children Rya and Isaiah who currently reside in Vancouver.
IBEW Local 48 electricians and NECA contractors will donate man-hours and supplies in an effort to build a new home for the young family. The project dubbed "Jeremiah's House" is managed by Steve Staudinger of New Tradition Homes.
IBEW Local 48 electritians will be wiring Jeremiah's House on March 15 and 16 at 7 a.m.
Many IBEW Local 48 electricians have proudly served in the military. IBEW 48 electricians pride themselves on their commitment to excellence on and off the job site.
