NECA/IBEW 48 helps Oregon garner No. 4 ranking for energy efficiency measures
October 22, 2009
(PORTLAND, OR) The American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) has released its 2009 state scorecard on energy efficiency policies, programs, and practices. Not surprising, Oregon ranks fourth among all states and the District of Columbia based on what is being done to implement energy efficiency measures. The NECA/IBEW 48 partnership wants to applaud ACEEE’s recognition of Oregon’s efforts, many of which involved work by IBEW electricians and NECA contractors.
The NECA/IBEW 48 partnership has over 5,000 men and women training to wire Oregon’s renewable and sustainable future. The partnership’s training center has cutting edge programs in solar, wind and energy efficiency technology that is critical to Oregon maintaining its leadership role. NECA/IBEW 48’s Code of Excellent serves as a commitment to being the most productive, highest quality and safety-conscious workforce in the industry.
ACEEE scores states on their achievements in six areas: utility and public benefits programs, transportation policies, building energy codes, combined heat and power, state government initiatives and appliance energy efficiency standards.
